The Bookly Google Maps Address (Add-on) is a high-efficiency extension for the Bookly Pro system that integrates the Google Places Autocomplete service into your booking form. Instead of customers manually typing their full street addresses—which often leads to typos and formatting errors—the form provides real-time suggestions as they type.
In late 2025, this add-on has become a standard requirement for service-based businesses (like plumbers, mobile therapists, or delivery services) that need verified physical addresses for their staff to visit.
Autocomplete Service: As soon as a user starts typing in the address field, a dropdown list of verified Google Maps addresses and business names appears.
Accuracy & Speed: Reduces the time customers spend filling out forms and ensures the address data saved in your database is geographically accurate.
Automatic Data Storage: Once an address is selected, the details (street, city, zip code) are automatically saved to the Customer's Profile in your Bookly backend.
Seamless Integration: Works within the "Details" step of any Bookly booking form (Modern, Step-by-Step, or Search).

To use this add-on, you must bridge your WordPress site with the Google Cloud Platform.
API Keys:
Go to the Google Cloud Console.
Enable the Google Places API Web Service and the Google Maps JavaScript API.
Create an API Key and set "HTTP Referrer" restrictions to your website URL for security.
Plugin Configuration:
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Bookly > Settings > Google Maps.
Paste your API key into the designated field.
Appearance Settings:
Navigate to Bookly > Appearance > Details tab.
Ensure the checkboxes for "Show address fields" and "Show google maps field" are checked.
Field Customization:
If you only need specific parts of the address, go to Settings > Customers > Customer's address fields to hide unnecessary fields like "State" or "Country."
Beyond just convenience, using verified addresses allows you to integrate with other advanced tools. For example, if you also use the Bookly Locations (Add-on), having a verified address ensures your staff can click the address in their "Staff Cabinet" and get instant GPS directions through their phone's mapping app.
Pro Tip: Google provides a $200 monthly credit for Maps API usage. For most small to medium businesses, this means the Autocomplete service will effectively be free, as you likely won't exceed the number of requests covered by the credit. However, always set a billing alert in your Google Console to avoid surprise charges if your site traffic spikes.
