MainWP Jetpack Protect Extension 4.0.5

The MainWP Jetpack Protect Extension is a free security add-on that bridges your MainWP Dashboard with the Jetpack Protect plugin. It allows you to monitor and manage security vulnerabilities for all your "Child Sites" from a single, centralized location.

Essentially, it brings the vulnerability scanning power of WPScan (owned by Automattic/Jetpack) directly into your MainWP interface.

🚀 Key Features

Centralized Vulnerability Scanning: View security flaws in WordPress core, plugins, and themes across your entire network without logging into individual sites.

Daily Automatic Scans: The extension automatically pulls scan data once every 24 hours to ensure your security status is up to date.

Detailed Security Insights: Click on any detected threat to see exactly what the vulnerability is, how severe it is, and which version of the software contains the fix.

Quick Actions: Allows you to bulk-update or ignore specific vulnerabilities directly from the MainWP Dashboard.

Security Widget: Adds a convenient widget to your MainWP "Overview" page for an at-a-glance look at your network's health.

🛠️ How It Works (The Connection)

To use this extension, you must have two things set up:

MainWP Jetpack Protect Extension: Installed on your MainWP Dashboard site.

Jetpack Protect Plugin: Installed and activated on each Child Site you want to monitor.

Note: Both the extension and the plugin are free. While Jetpack has paid "Scan" features (Malware scanning), the "Protect" vulnerability scanning is a standalone free service.

⚙️ Quick Setup Guide

Install the Extension: On your MainWP Dashboard, go to MainWP > Extensions > Install Extensions and find "Jetpack Protect."

Prepare Child Sites: Ensure the "Jetpack Protect" plugin is active on your child sites.

Sync Sites: Navigate to MainWP > Extensions > Jetpack Protect. If you don't see your sites yet, click Sync All.

Connect: Select your sites and use the Bulk Actions menu to "Connect Jetpack."

Monitor: Once connected, the "Vulnerabilities" tab will populate with any detected risks.

⚖️ Jetpack Protect vs. Jetpack Scan

It is easy to confuse these two MainWP extensions:

Jetpack Protect (Free): Focuses on Vulnerabilities (known bugs in code/outdated versions).

Jetpack Scan (Pro): Focuses on Malware (active infections, backdoors, and malicious code). This requires a paid Jetpack subscription for each site.
